In support — Brittan Heller & Heide Iravani

The internet, like Yale Law School, has been described as “civilized anarchy” because it runs amazingly well with very few rules. Part of the reason why it can do so, in fine west coast style, is that the community can act quickly to establish unwritten but well known norms to protect itself and its members.

I too have just seen these links around the place, it does seem that this isn’t as frivilous as I originally thought.

However I cannot fully endorse a legal suit to unmask anonymous twats behind the bickering on a backwater site of the Internet.

Firstly, it gives credit to the site, attracted attention to it, which the student body has already done too much for the site (it is such a dispicable place, it apalls me on so many levels, both technical and social).

Secondly, do you remember John Seigentahler?

Admittedly his case was minus the ‘threats’ but very nearly did write him to the history books as being involved in the JFK killings. His reaction drew too much attention of the reactionist crowd, and painted ‘wikipedia’ as something more than what it is, a mere site.

While I wouldn’t mind at all that they out these antagonist deliquents, I do not think legal action is required, if anything all posts should have been taken down.

The prick (and I am convinced he is, the mere fact that the site is an abomination of programming and design leads me to this conclusion) who runs the site should have been whipped in public doused in white vinger, and sandblasted with salt.

That or told to take down the posts. I am on the fence on that one.
